Climate change summit to focus on challenges and solutions for Yorkshire

Fri, 07/30/2021 - 17:19

As the UK looks forward to hosting the world’s largest climate change conference, COP26, later this year in Glasgow, Yorkshire will be hosting a climate summit of its own.

Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission is pleased to announce that it is partnering with the Yorkshire Post for the one-day event on 10 November. The hybrid event will now take place at Leeds' Royal Armouries* from 09.00-17.00.

The Yorkshire Post Climate Change Summit 2021 will bring together politicians, business leaders, academics and media from a cross-section of sectors. Speakers and attendees will debate the challenges that Yorkshire faces and discuss the best way forward to achieve our shared goals.

The event will also see the launch of a regional climate action plan for Yorkshire and the Humber, which is being produced by Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission under director Andy Gouldson. The plan will be put out to public consultation in September – details to be announced soon.

Conference delegates can book tickets via a dedicated website for the summit. The main conference sessions will also be available to view online free of charge on the conference website. Both the live and virtual offerings will be fully interactive, ensuring engagement regardless of location.
