Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission has launched an online public consultation for its draft climate action plan. The plan will be the first ever climate plan for the whole of the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Climate change summit to focus on challenges and solutions for Yorkshire

As the UK looks forward to hosting the world’s largest climate change conference, COP26, later this year in Glasgow, Yorkshire will be hosting a climate summit of its own.

Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission is pleased to announce that it is partnering with the Yorkshire Post for the one-day event on 10 November. The hybrid event will now take place at Leeds' Royal Armouries* from 09.00-17.00.

A Yorkshire Circular Lab has just been launched by the University of Leeds, to help organisations across the region to benefit from circular economy processes.

Helping flood-hit companies build for the future

Companies affected by floods are working with a ground-breaking project aimed at protecting their future business interests.

The study, led by the University of Leeds, was set up to highlight the true monetary cost of flooding to the business sector and local communities. It aims to establish a framework in which insurers work more closely with businesses that have struggled in the past to secure flood insurance.

Film created for climate commission launch

A new film to launch the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission premiered last week to an online audience of more than 400 people.

The film, presented by BBC Meteorologist Paul Hudson, sets out the climate change challenge for the sprawling region and showcases a range of inspirational "success stories" from organisations and groups.

An independent advisory group, set up to support ambitious climate action in Yorkshire and the Humber, has launched today, 17 March.

The Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission brings together a team of climate leaders from across the public, private and third sectors, in the largest regional Commission of its kind in the UK.
