Promoting the development of community energy initiatives
The next meeting of the Yorkshire & Humber Climate Commission’s Communities & Engagement Panel will focus on community energy.
Vicky Dunn, Community Energy Manager and Secretary of Grimsby Community Energy (supported by Emma Bridge, Chief Executive, Community Energy England) will share her experience of developing a successful community energy initiative, followed by questions from the panel and a discussion about how more community energy projects can be developed in our region.
The meeting will also include some of the first results of public consultation via the Commission’s Commonplace platform.
Communities & Engagement Panel meetings are open to –
- Statutory organisations involved in engaging the public on climate issues
- Members of community groups or third sector organisations working on climate issues (eg active travel; food; community energy; home energy saving; retrofit; climate literacy; repair and recycling; etc)
- Community groups that want to start engaging members on climate issues.
